My first ever student was a competitive mountain biker, who was in such debilitating lower back pain that often he was unable to lift himself out of bed. There are three components to healthy ankles—stability, flexibility and mobility—and yoga can help to improve all three. When you practice yoga, you strengthen your feet, ankles and lower legs in all of the standing poses and in the transitions between them.
